Villa Capela

At the end of a winding road peeps a subtle collage of doors and windows reminiscent of a Mediterranean fort. This quaint home opens into a rectangular courtyard with a swimming pool that seems to spill into the palm-fringed paddy fields in front. A white-washed chapel sits in the middle of the fields framed by gentle hills. A rustic dining area stays open to the left of the courtyard, while to the right, a soft breeze blows through a double-height living area. In the corner, a charming bedroom overlooks fields on one side and forest on the other. This beautiful holiday home in Goa has a staircase leads up to three more bedrooms with antique furniture, projecting balconies and the same view of palm-lined paddies. A quaint bridge connecting the bedrooms looks into the courtyard below. Another flight up is a spacious terrace onto which the branches of a large banyan tree spill. A sloping pergola houses a seating area and throws patterned light across the terrace. It’s the ideal place to sip tea and watch the sun set between the hills.
