Isprava pays tribute to former Chief Justice PN Bhagwati
We would like to pay tribute to Isprava’s ex-director, former chief justice PN Bhagwati. The 17th Chief Justice of India Bhagwati remained on the highest judicial post between July 1985 and December 1986. He was a former Chief Justice of the Gujarat HC and was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court in July 1973. A pioneer of judicial activism, he introduced the concept of PIL and was responsible for several important rulings on issues related to fundamental rights. Chief Justice PN Bhagwati passed away on Thursday 15th June 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 95 years. His legacy …
